If you reach our answering service, please leave a voice mail. This allows us to respond after hours as well as during our high volume call periods during regular business hours.

Our call center is staffed 9-4 Monday through Thursday and 9-12 on Friday. We take the weekends off and you should too. Artists work longer hours but normally do not staff the phones.

THE STORY OF COCONUT GREETINGS

The owner, Lisa, lived in Hawaii for eight years. One day she made small talk with the postal clerk and asked what was the most unique thing the clerk had ever shipped. The clerk replied "Live bees [holy cow!] and hand painted coconuts". Lisa couldn't believe you could send a hand painted coconut without a box through the mail. So she began painting coconuts and sending them to family in the mainland for Christmas and birthdays. It was such a hit with them, that she decided to take it "global".

Since 1996, we have been sending coconuts world wide. The art staff has grown to 18 painters, so we can offer fast turnaround on large or small painted coconut and decal coconut orders. In that time we've strived to become as environmentally conscious as we can. All of our products are recycled or eco-friendly, with the exception of our paints. We searched and searched for eco-friendly paints that would work on our products, to no avail. For that reason we use acrylic based paints.

All in all, sending coconuts is a great way to be green: recycling coconuts! Flowers, gift baskets, wedding favors and traditional marketing promotions get discarded and forgotten. Who would throw away a coconut?

Imagine opening up your mailbox to find a real Hawaiian coconut with a painted personalized greeting from a loved one. Ideal for gifts, favors, decorations, promotional items, invitations, holidays, anniversary, birthday, congratulation, graduation, new baby, get well, announcement and marriage proposal messages, bridal favors, table centerpieces, and luau party decorations.

OUR PRODUCTS

We offer whole size coconuts, hollow coconuts, coconut cups, coconut stands and coconut shells. Our whole coconuts come from Molokai, an island in the Hawaiian chain. We only use Molokai coconuts, because they have the smoothest skins and last the longest. We've tried to use coconuts from Florida and other tropical areas for our whole size gifts, but they crack and skins fray as they age.

Our other products come to us from Florida and Florida coconuts: the hollow coconuts, polished coconut cups, and polished coconut half shells.

OUR SERVICE

The artists at Coconut Greetings hand paint coconut products for one-of-a-kind gifts, trophies, mailers and invitations. Our product line is constantly evolving because our clients dream up the designs. All our products are also available blank, ready to be printed, engraved or painted. Pictures on our web site are merely to highlight the variety of work we have done. You are not limited to those designs in any way.

In addition to hand painted designs, we also provide decal service. Artwork provided by the client is printed on a special adhesive decal, applied to the coconut product, and then covered with another adhesive product and finished with a protective clear finish. Decals are less costly than hand painting services. In the past we have also painted on media provided by the client [footballs, beach balls, etc.]

For larger orders: Samples are available prior to start of a large production run. We charge in advance for the single unit sample, then apply the credit to your larger order. We offer discounts on large production runs and many of our customers purchase our products and then mark the price up to pass on to their clients. Some of our items are available at wholesale. The largest hand-painted order we have done to date was just over 5,000 pieces, so large orders are not a problem.

Drop ship service to your recipient list is available. Clients often send additional materials to be packed in the boxes [leis, maps, sales materials, etc]. Just send us the mailing list in a digital format and we take it from there.
